Abbey 5x5

With Barry Morgan as Tailtiu Theatre, a devised project with young people living in Mosney Direct Provision Centre as part of the Abbey 5x5 project in the Peacock Theatre

Under D’bED

Tailtiu Theatre’s first professional production. An interactive Choose-Your-Own-Adventure play where audiences guide the protagonist on a quest through a fantastical world. Produced in association with Droichead Arts Centre for Leanbh Children’s Festival. Directed by Paul Hayes. Design by EDDE.

Natural 20

Devised and performed by Cathal Thornton, Jack Brophy, and Jimmy Kavanagh, Natural 20 was first staged in DU Players in April 2017. In 2018 the show was revived and won a Judge’s Discretion award at the Irish Student Drama Awards in Cork.

Mighty Morphin’ power rangers: the musical (not a musical)

Written by Cathal Thornton, and directed by Cathal Thornton and Jimmy Kavanagh. MMPR:TM(NAM) was a tongue-in-cheek retelling of the origin story of everyone’s favourite spandex-clad teenagers with attitude!

Setanta

Written and performed by Cathal Thornton and directed by Colin Smith, Setanta was a retelling of the tale of Cú Chulainn of Irish mythology. Blending puppetry, aural storytelling, and live AV, Setanta presented one of Ireland’s oldest tales in a new light.
